The Manila City government offered flowers at the graves of former President Sergio Osmeña and former Manila mayors Antonio Villegas and Arsenio Lacson in recognition of their contributions to the city and the country.
In a social media post on Sunday, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno said the gesture was meant to express respect, gratitude, and tribute to public servants who had made significant contributions to Manila and the nation.
"Sa simpleng pag-aalay ng bulaklak, ipinapaabot po natin ang ating respeto, pasasalamat at pagpupugay sa mga personalidad at lingkod-bayan na minsang naglingkod at nagbigay ng malaking ambag sa ating lungsod at bansa.," Moreno said.
"We do not forget the people who became part of our history," he added.
