The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecast scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of the country on Thursday, November 5, due to the prevailing Easterlies.
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail over the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Marinduque, Romblon, Oriental Mindoro, Dinagat Islands, and Surigao del Norte.
The weather bureau warned that moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas may trigger flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains are also expected over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Easterlies.
PAGASA advised the public to remain alert for possible flash floods or landslides, particularly in areas that may experience severe thunderstorms.
For coastal conditions, moderate winds from the northeast to east will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas, as well as Mindanao, with slight to moderate seas expected.
The Northeast Monsoon is currently affecting Northern Luzon, while the Easterlies are influencing the rest of the country.
