Kai Sotto is expected to rejoin Gilas Pilipinas for the November window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers, provided he fully recovers from his knee injury.

National team head coach Tim Cone said Sotto is targeting a return for the upcoming games, with his availability depending on the condition of his knee.

“If everything goes right with his knee, he expects to join us in Kuala Lumpur,” Cone said.

Gilas will resume its national team camp on Nov. 20 ahead of its two away games against Syria on Nov. 27 and Iran on Nov. 30.

Both matches will be played in Seremban, Malaysia, as the Philippines continues its campaign in the Asian Qualifiers.

Meanwhile, forward Carl Tamayo will miss the November window after sustaining an ankle injury while playing in South Korea.

Sotto's potential return would provide a boost to Gilas' frontline as the team prepares for two important matchups in its bid to qualify for the 2027 FIBA World Cup.
