Malacañang on Wednesday denied reports that Land Transportation Office (LTO) Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao is set to be replaced by Naga City Administrator Atty. Noreen San Luis-Lutey.

Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Claire Castro said Wednesday that the Department of Transportation (DOTr) has denied reports of a planned leadership change at the LTO.

Castro said her office directly coordinated with Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, whose office clarified that he had only been asked about the possibility of Lacanilao being removed from his post.

The clarification came after reports surfaced that San Luis-Lutey was being considered as Lacanilao's replacement.

San Luis-Lutey, a former LTO regional director, was appointed Naga City administrator in August 2026 under the administration of Mayor Leni Robredo.
