The Philippine National Police (PNP) is investigating reports that gambling tycoon Charlie “Atong” Ang has left the country through a backdoor exit, following claims by Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla that the fugitive businessman had fled the Philippines.
According to RH Edniel Parrosa, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Allen Rae Co said the police would coordinate with all concerned government agencies regarding Ang’s reported departure.
In relation, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said Wednesday this week that Ang remains in the Philippines based on available government documents and verified Bureau of Immigration (BI) records, contradicting Remulla’s earlier claim.
