The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VIII in Tacloban is investigating a batch of documents submitted to its office to obtain special orders.

According to CHED Regional Director Dr. Maximo Aljibe, the individual who submitted the documents claimed to be a lawyer. However, upon verification with the Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC), the individual’s name was not found on the Roll of Attorneys, RH 32 Jimmy Angay-Angay reported.

CHED also contacted the school identified in the documents, which denied having any affiliation with the individual.

CHED said it would conduct further investigation to establish the facts and determine whether the school was involved in the transaction.

Director Aljibe stressed that CHED follows a strict process when issuing special orders, and cannot be granted to individuals who have yet to complete their course requirements.
