A husband, his wife, and their 6-month-old baby girl were killed in a grenade explosion in Barangay Tampilong, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, according to a report by RH 19 Jun Dimacutac of Central Mindanao.
The couple died on the spot, while their child, who was brought to a hospital, eventually died from severe injuries caused by the impact of the grenade.
In a report by the Marawi Police, the young family was a casualty in a law enforcement operation carried out by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) against a wanted person.
The suspect, in an attempt to evade his warrant of arrest, left a live grenade close to where the family was situated.
The family’s relatives are appealing for justice as the Marawi Police and AFP continue to pursue the suspect.
