Mayon Volcano generated an ash plume that rose 1,600 meters above its summit crater during an emission event on Tuesday morning, November 3, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The ash emission began at around 8:22 a.m. and the plume drifted southwest, based on footage recorded by IP cameras at the Mayon Volcano Observatory in Ligñon Hill and the Ligao Observation Station.
In its latest advisory, PHIVOLCS said Alert Level 3 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano.
The agency also reminded the public that entry into the volcano's 6-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ) is prohibited.
This is a developing story.
