The Philippine National Police (PNP) has urged pet owners who may have been victimized by a pet crematorium in Bacoor, Cavite to file complaints following the discovery of the remains of 29 dogs and cats dumped in a vacant lot in Bulacan.

PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. directed police units in Bulacan and Cavite to provide investigative assistance and help affected pet owners pursue legal action against those responsible.

Nartatez called on pet owners who availed themselves of the crematorium's services to come forward and submit receipts, cremation certificates, transaction records, and other relevant documents to support their complaints.

The remains of the 29 animals were reportedly brought to Ahjay Paws Aftercare Pet Crematorium in Bacoor City, Cavite, but were later found inside sacks dumped in a vacant lot in Barangay Minuyan Proper, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

The PNP said possible charges include estafa under Article 315(2)(a) of the Revised Penal Code and syndicated estafa.

Those responsible may also face complaints for alleged violations of the Code on Sanitation of the Philippines, the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, and the Consumer Act of the Philippines.

The police urged affected pet owners to coordinate with authorities and provide information that could help establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and hold those responsible accountable.
