The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has imposed a ₱555.75-million fine on motorcycle taxi platform Move It for allegedly maintaining 55,575 rider-partners beyond its authorized limit.

Based on the LTFRB decision, Move It was authorized to operate with only 17,746 rider-partners across Metro Manila, Cebu City, and Cagayan de Oro City, RH Val Gonzales reported.

However, records submitted by the company showed that its actual number of rider-partners reached 73,321, exceeding its authorized allocation by 55,575.

The penalty amounts to ₱10,000 for each excess rider-partner, bringing the total fine to ₱555.75 million.

The LTFRB's action stems from the platform's reported violation of the authorized rider-partner cap in its motorcycle taxi operations.
