The Philippine National Police (PNP) has warned the public against deliberately spreading misleading information amid the ongoing manhunt for Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, following the circulation of an old photograph allegedly showing him at a cemetery in Digos City, Davao del Sur.

In the report of RH Edniel Parrosa, PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Allen Rae Co said the agency's technical team verified that the circulating photograph was not recent.

Co added that the original owner of the photograph had also commented that the image was taken three years ago.

He warned that individuals who deliberately circulate old or misleading photographs to mislead authorities could face possible consequences.

"It was confirmed by our tech team that this was an old picture. Luma na po ito, and the owner of the picture himself commented na three years ago pa po ito. If this was meant to mislead, there may be possible consequences for posts like these," Co said.

The PNP reminded the public to exercise caution when sharing information online, particularly those concerning ongoing law enforcement operations.
