The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will issue four labor advisories in November to prepare for the possible effects of Super El Niño on workers, Labor Secretary Francis Tolentino said.
Tolentino said the advisories will focus on non-wage benefits and measures to protect workers from extreme heat.
“For instance, we will allow security guards to take shelter if it is hot outside. We will allow construction workers to take a break when the heat index is high,” Tolentino said.
He said the advisories are intended to help ensure workers' safety and welfare as the country prepares for the coming El Niño season.
Tolentino said the public should watch for the issuance of the four advisories in November.
