Two separate fire incidents struck Davao City on Tuesday, November 3, destroying an estimated 10 houses in Toril District and a bakery in Agdao District.
The first fire broke out shortly after 4 p.m. at Barangay Lubogan, near the Lubogan Public Cemetery, in Toril District.
Barangay Captain Levi Fortuna said the fire reportedly started on the second floor of a house, where an explosion was heard before flames quickly spread to neighboring homes.
Around 10 houses were destroyed in the incident, most of which were made of light materials, allowing the fire to spread rapidly.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out at around 5:04 p.m. at a bakery in Barangay Ubalde, Agdao District.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), firefighters arrived at the scene at around 5:14 p.m. and managed to put out the blaze.
The BFP is continuing its investigation to determine the causes of both fires and assess the total cost of the damage.
