About 800 households in Antipolo City were affected after a major water main broke in the COGEO area on Tuesday, sending water and mud into nearby establishments, officials said.

Manila Water restored water service Wednesday morning, Oct. 7, after its mainline along Marcos Highway was damaged Tuesday.

Manila Water spokesperson Jeric Sevilla said the company was still investigating the cause of the major breakage.

The sudden surge of water flooded several nearby establishments and left portions of the area covered in mud.

Restoration work continued Wednesday on the damaged section of Marcos Highway, along with flushing operations in the area.
