The municipality of Lope de Vega in Northern Samar has declared a state of calamity due to the effects of the El Niño phenomenon, particularly on the agricultural sector.
The declaration was made under Sangguniang Bayan Resolution No. 15-120, series of 2026, paving the way for immediate assistance to affected residents whose agricultural livelihoods and health have been impacted by the prolonged dry conditions.
